To recognize the contributions of young researchers working in the area of neuroscience, the Indian Academy of Neuroscience has instituted awards/prizes. Persons willing to be considered for the award may apply directlty or get nominated. Tulsabai Somani Education Trust Awards The awards is given for best oral presentation at the annual conference of IAN by young neuroscientist and carries cash prize of Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only), member and certificate. Dr. D.M. Kar Prize The awards is given for best oral presentation at the annual conference of IAN by young neuroscientist and carries a memento and a certificate.Professor S.S. Parmar Research Foundation AwardThere are two awards, which are given for best papers presentation in the Poster session. The award carries cash prize of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) and certificate individually. TRAVEL GRANTS A limited number of travel grants will be provided to young researchers from India, preferably research students for presenting paper in the decided on the merit of the work. Application / requests supported by the recommendation of the supervisor that the candidate has no fellowship should reach the Organizing Secretary by October 10, 2009. The selected candidates will be informed by November 30, 2009 and provided second class train/bus fair by the shortest route. John Miller Travel Award The Academy provides John Miller Travel Award(s) that covers for a round trip II class sleeper travel to the candidate presenting a paper at the annual conference on competitive basis. Professor R. Nath Memorial Travel Award The Academy provides Dr. R. Nath Memorial Travel Fellowship to the candidates seeking support for participation in the annual conference of Indian Academy of Neuroscience. Up to 6-8 travel fellowships consisting of actual travel reimbursement by AC-3 tier up to the maximum of Rs.1,500/- will be available depending on the availability of funds every year. The fellowship will be provided on competitive basis and selection will be made by the organizing Secretary by constituting a committee in consultation with Treasurer and Secretary. Researchers competing for the award should be members of the Academy. Their applications with abstract should reach the Conference Secretariat by November 15, 2009.
